A Message From My Amazon Account 10/9/2012

As a result of changes to federal regulations, Amazon Payments requires that you provide your tax identity information.
To verify your identity and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, please provide your full 9 digit Social Security Number
*Social Security Number
"Beginning with the 2011 tax year, new IRS regulations require Amazon Payments to file a Form 1099-K for persons who exceed $20,000 in unadjusted gross sales and 200 transactions in a calendar year."

I have not exceeded $20,000 in unadjusted gross sales and I doubt that I have had 200 transactions in my life time I use it very rarely.  WTF?  I guess I will find out what happens if I don't comply, won't I?  Rat Bastards!
