I spent a whole 2 and a half hours at work before I asked T-Jay to start coming my way to pick me up.
The poor Evil Twin didn’t even make it up in Millers lot.
I had to get out twice to push due to getting stuck. Good thing home is less than a mile away. For some reason we have to have hills in our subdivision, WTF? We got stuck twice.
We just made it home and….
….aren’t going anywhere any time soon!
Even though it does look beautiful, I’m more than ready for some 70 degree weather.
I’m glad I scheduled my inspections this week according to the weather. Yesterday T-Jay and I went to Catalpa to do a home and property inspection. I get to do this property every year and remembered that awful driveway going to the house.
This photo doesn’t show how bad it really is. T-Jay was driving and having a ball off-roading. I was a nervous wreck and didn’t take photos of the part where he had to either go around pot holes or try to straddle them. Most of it was mud further up and I was terrified that we were going to get stuck. If I would have been by myself, I would have walked to the house. Look at the poor Evil Twin….
T-Jays doctor visit went fine. I had set up the appointment with the same doctor that I see. Her name is Rachel, she’s in her 30’s and she’s always been very open minded ….not set in her way. Rachel gave him a complete physical and spent more than an hour talking to us. We were waiting all week on a ton of test results. One of the nurses called me this morning. The only issues they found was with the liver function test and his low vitamin D and B levels. Other things that they tested for were Thyroid function, Lyme disease, Diabetes, Lupus, Cholesterol, and Arthritis and all these were normal….I know I’m forgetting some. I don’t know if I should be happy or sad about the results. Well….on we push to find the cause of his pains. He’s got another appointment next Friday morning.
I got a nice surprise yesterday. The bee’s wax that I ordered from Guy two weeks ago came in.
Thanks Guy and thanks for the honey. It was awesome in my tea last night. :) Next week I’m cooking some cream. I’m almost out.
The two bottles of DMSO came in also and now I have pussy in a box. :)
I spent this morning cooking for the weekend because tomorrow is my long day at Millers’ and I won’t be feeling like cooking. So I stewed a chicken with plenty of gravy and some rice. Amongst other stuff, this should keep us going for the weekend.
I just received two chases in Woodbridge in my email. I guess they have just been slow or maybe everyone got money for Christmas and paid their car notes? I will take care of them on Sunday before work at Millers’. I’m going to take T-Jay with me to teach him how to do these. This way I can accept work to do after 5 PM which they often request and I have to turn down because I work from 3 to 9 at Millers’
Well, that’s all the news for now. Almost time to head out of here.
That was last week. Most of it is gone, but it's been so cold that there are still spots of snow and ice here and there.
Nothing much going on around here lately. It's winter and everything has slowed down. Buckland Farm Market is closed until sometime in February. I did manage to stock up on a few things before they shut down. Now I'm down to Harris Teeter and Wegman's for groceries.
Last night after work, T-Jay and I stopped by Kenny and Cyndi's to visit. It was great seeing everyone once again. Hugs to you two for having us. Nice to see Aaron, Teya, Leah and Scott. I tried some apple moonshine and it was awesome. Kenny and Cyndi sent me home with some deer meat. I defrosted a roast over night and will season it up when I get home. Should make some awesome brown gravy.
T-Jay's health insurance kicked in yesterday and he has an appointment with a doctor tomorrow morning. Great! Let the testing begin!
I haven't had any car chases in two weeks.....hmmm...wonder if people are paying their car notes or if the company found someone cheaper than me to do them. I did have a bunch of home inspections for Wachovia and Wells Fargo in the last weeks. Two more are coming up this week. I just hope the weather stays as it is and we don't get any major snow so that I can complete them. Everyone of these kind of inspections require a sketch of the property. I'm getting better at hand drawing them, but I need to teach myself one of the free sketching programs that are available. Sure would help if I knew someone that uses them to help me get the hang of it. :(
Spring is right around the corner. I can't wait. There is a Lilac bush in my front yard that's close to the windows. I bought it online about 4 years ago and it was about 4 inches tall. I really didn't think it was going to make it, but it's been growing very well, it's over 10 feet tall now. I'm going to have to dig it up and move it away from the house this year. Then I'm planning to use any and all free space in the front and in the back yard to grow stuff that can be eaten. Mmmmhhh...wonder how the HOA would feel about me digging up my front yard to grow vegetables? I'll have to find the rule book and see what it says about that.
I'm going to have to research low light growing veggies since the back yard doesn't really get much sun.
Wonder if I will have to declare war on the Squirells?
...or on Patches the cat. LOL...his new thing is stealing ear plugs.
Driving in front of me yesterday morning was a Ford Truck Toyota Wanna Be.
Just finished a Homeowner’s Inspection in Falls Church….the traffic sucked big time. Yes, I know, I promised myself not to accept work out that way. What can I say….the money is good. When I perform an inspection like that I always have to make a sketch of the building with measurements. I sure wish I knew someone that could teach me how to use a sketching program. It sure would make things a lot easier. I got a break from doing that yesterday since the contractor was on site and he already had a sketch. He emailed it to me last night! Awesome!! Another thing that would make this easier would be a laser measuring gadget instead of the measuring wheel that I use now. Since I only do between 6 and 12 of these types of inspections a year, it just isn’t in my budget.
T-Jay is doing fine except for being in pain every day. I hate to see him that way and it pains me that there is not a thing I can do about it. I feel absolutely helpless! All I can do right now is make sure that his body has enough vitamins and minerals to work with. His health insurance should kick in on the 15th of this month. Hopefully he will find out once and for all what is causing this. I’m hoping that it is not Fibromyalgia, but something that can be fixed.
On a good note, he is getting some really good feedback on “Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You”
I picked up T-Jay from the Manassas train depot this morning.
I could see his train coming way, way down the tracks….
Looks like Silly has a new cuddling buddy….
T-Jay said that it was impossible to sleep on the train due to snoring and babies crying. Well, he’s catching up now.
I just finished cooking a large pot of red beans and rice. It will be there for him when he wakes up.
Last night before T-Jay left Atlanta, he uploaded his finally finished, first vocal/lyrical project. I already burned me a copy to ride in the Evil Twin with and am loving it.
For those of you interested, you can down load it from his blog.
