Last Sunday and Then I'll have Two Sundays Off....Maybe :)

Unless something comes up, work wise.

I've spent most of today getting ready for my merchandising gigs.  I will the take care of the one at Bloom's tomorrow and save the 7-Elevens for Tuesday.  I sure hope that I get used to this process quickly because if I don't, I'll spend a ton on ink and paper for the 15 to 20 page directions.  Once I get them down pat, I'll just print out the forms that I need to fill out. Oh well, I won't stress about it....it's a learning curve! :)

I love this photo.  It sure applies to our area, especially since all that snow.

Another couple of hours here at Miller's, then I'm going to stop by T-Jay's to see if I can fix the screen door which has been catching hell from the winds lately.  I'm hoping also to be able to wash my car before leaving here.  The Evil Twin looks like crap and it's getting on my LAST NERVE.

Weird Weather

It's strange how with all that howling wind the night before last, none of my straw was blown away....

....but it broke this bush a few feet from my bed......

....and a tree out front.....

The trash bag full of empty plastic bottles didn't move either.

This morning things have calmed down.  The sun is out and it looks like it will be a beautiful day.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.

Stormy Friday

Wow….what a night!!  We had 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50 last night.  Sounds like it’s still at it this morning and it probably won’t calm down until later today.

I haven’t been out there this morning and I’m wondering if I have any of the straw that I put down in my muddy path is still there.  I have a huge trash bags full of empty plastic bottles out there that I’ve been collecting for seed starting….wonder if it’s still out there.

I’m amazed at how well the straw that surrounds my trailer is helping with the wind.  When I was laying in bed last night, not once did I feel any movement in my home.  I remember last winter there was plenty of rocking going on with high winds.

Right now I can barely hear the wind and I guess that’s due to all the bubble wrap on my windows.

I spent a few hours at my Mom’s yesterday.  As always, good times and much laughter.  She hugged me, kissed me, fed me and sent me on my way. :)   We had home made Lentil soup with German Sausage :)

I hadn’t been there since before the snow storms and she had rearranged all the furniture and I’m not talking about plastic, cheap, card board, pressed wood furniture.   It was amazing that she had done all this by herself.  I just hope that I will be in this good of shape when I’m 74 years old.  She goes to Yoga twice a week and now goes on the treadmill every day.

My very anti computer gadget Mom introduced me to her brand new “Fitbit”.  The Fitbit tracks your calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled and sleep quality.  It contains a 3D motion sensor like the ones found in the Wii.  The Fitbit tracks your motion in three dimensions and converts this into useful information about your daily activities.  You can wear the Fitbit on your waist, in your pocket or on undergarments.  At night, you can wear it clipped to a wristband in order to track your sleep.  Anytime you walk by the wireless base station, data from the Fitbit is uploaded in the background to Fitbit.com.  You can input everything you eat.  She was telling me how she had trouble sleeping the other night and sure enough it showed up on the Fitbit.

I ordered my very own while I was there.  It seems to be getting very popular since it’s on back order until the end of March.  While I’m waiting, I’ll keep track of what I eat,  get in touch with other users on their forum and “befriend” my Mom so that we can push each other along.   She’s lost 8 pounds so far.

Before I left, Mom shared some of the goodies that had just arrived via UPS

LOL…in a few minutes I’m going to cut these into smaller pieces for the freezer so that I won’t go overboard with this yummy goodness!

Is ANYTHING EVER Plug And Play?

So I stopped by Walmart yesterday to pick up some Invisible Glass cleaner, since it’s the cheapest place that I’ve been able to find it at.  I really wanted two bottles, one for home and one for the Evil Twin.  I had some empty spray bottles and decided to split the bottle between two of them.
Easy thing right?  Just unscrew the bottle and poor the stuff out into another bottle.  Couldn’t be simpler right?  Well, it took me almost twenty minutes because the Invisible Spray bottle didn’t unscrew.  WTF? I ended up getting one of a girl’s best friends …the good ole’ vice grips that I keep in my underwear drawer.  What can I say….I have limited space! :)
CIMG6169
Talking about Rat Bastards….I mean Walmart….I’ve been on a  bagel kick lately and found a pack for half the price then at the grocery store.  I was so happy!!!  When I got home I realized that all the bagels in this bag were half the size of the ones I had bought at the grocery store.  Rat Bastards!! (_x_)
One of my co-workers sent me this e-mail this morning giving us more options in the emoticon department.  I for one am kind of tired of the smiley/sad faces.

I think that (_x_) will be one of my new favorites.
Time to get the paperwork off of my desk.  Then I think I’ll go out and find the rake to spread the straw around a bit.

It's A Gloomy Day...

I think we got about 20 minutes of sunshine this morning and then it turned to doom and gloom....sigh

Shit....I can't believe I haven't been on here since last Thursday.  It's been a busy week.  Ha, I finally made it through a full week at Miller's without getting stuck or snowed in too. :)

It was supposed to start raining none stop this afternoon, so I got all my dirty laundry together, unplugged the empty propane tank, loaded everything in the Evil Twin and hauled ass down the road.  It's already muddy as hell and hauling stuff back and forth was not something I wanted to be doing once it started to rain.

When I got back, I removed one of the bales of straw and covered the mud.  I might take another one down when it stops raining.  It I can cover my path with straw, I'll be able to carry that full tank of propane and hook it  up.  As it is now, I'd have to take breaks and set it in the mud.  LOL...setting it in the snow doesn't help either because under all that snow is MORE mud.

This is a little bit better, at least by the steps where the worst of the mud is.

Remember that large bump I had on my jaw line a couple of weeks ago?  Well, the doctor said it was a boil and prescribed the all time cure-all, an anitbiotic.  I know a boil when I see one and feel one...and this was not it.  The redness has gone away, but the bump is still there.  I guess I'll make another appointment this week.

Kenny just texted me that he brought the propane bottle to my home and hooked it up for me.  Thanks Kenny.:)  I can't wait for it to dry up so that I can park at my door again.

Warming Trend

It’s supposed to get up in the low 40’s during the day for the next week.  Still in the 20’s during the night, but hopefully it will warm up enough to melt some of this snow.  I have a feeling that I will have to dig out more snow to dump my black water tank by the end of the weekend.  We have a chance of snow/rain Sunday and Monday.  I guess I better not wait too long.   Maybe Sunday morning before I go to work at Millers.

Haven’t figured out what’s wrong with my surround sound yet.  People have suggested to unplug my trailer and then plug it back in.  They have also suggested things that I should have had and done before the power went out, but that doesn’t help right now, does it?  I’ll try that when I get a chance.  I’m really not worried about it since I get better sound out of speakers on my computer and I rarely watch movies anyway, but I do like for everything to be in working order in here.   I’m sure glad that the DVD that’s stuck in there is not a rental!!

I have been really busy with car chases this week.  I also have two commercial inspections coming up today and tomorrow.  Commercial inspections pay really well, but the paper work is a pain in the butt.  The one I have for tomorrow will be interesting since I had to give up my place of birth, birth date, and social security number to be able to get into this government facility.  I guess I’ll leave the Bersa at home?  I wonder if they will ask me about my conceal to carry permit or if they will even know about it.  I guess I’ll find out how secure this secure facility is tomorrow.

I also picked up a small merchandising gig, restocking DVD’s at a ==Blooms==.  It’s not that much money, but it’s something I can take care of while I’m on my way to some place else.  I have also signed up for some merchandising at local ==7-Elevens== which should start next month.

I finally received a check from the company that I log junk mail for.  It sure came in handy and took care of two tanks of fuel this week.  This was for mail logged from June to August last year.  They pay slow, but at least they do pay. :)

Time to study up on the commercial reports.  I tend to forget what is involved since I don’t get them often enough to get used to doing them.

Happiness Is Finding Out That The Fridge Is Not Broken

Woohoo!  I’m such a happy camper.  It turned out that all I had to do is push the reset button and it was working just fine.   That’s a load off of MY mind!

I cleaned out the left over odds and ends and dumped them outside on the snow for the animals.  It sure kept my pussy occupied.  Here she is watching what ever it was that ate them.

CIMG6089

The snow last night didn’t amount to much so I’m sure the roads are in great shape today.  They sure were on the way home last night.

I still don’t know what’s up with my surround system in my trailer.  I’ll have to take a look at it later.  Something must have happened due to the power going off and then back on.  LOL…no reset button on this one.

It’s Teri’s birthday today.  I hope she has an un-stressful day today.

Tony stopped by at Millers Saturday and brought me a set of stock tail lights for the Evil Twin.  Thanks Tony…you’re awesome!!!   I have until the end of March to put them in, since that’s when my state inspection is due.  Here’s hoping for a warmer day to take care of this.

It sure is noisy out here today…lol, all that snow and the icicles falling off of the roof. I’ve opened the front door twice earlier thinking someone was knocking.  mmmhhh, why do I keep on calling it the front door when I only have ONE?

No chases today, but I do have a pile of paperwork to get rid of.  It’s piling up and getting on my last nerve so I’ll make it go away before I go to Millers tonight.   ….but first more important things, one more cup of coffee and catching up on all my blog friends. :)

HONEY!!!! ...I'm home :)

I went back home yesterday morning.  It took only about 5 minutes to get the place all snuggly and warm again.  The only thing I was missing was running water.

Last night after I was back home for the day, I kept turning the faucet on every few minutes and it started to drip.  By early evening my water was back and running.

As far as I can tell, nothing was damaged by the weather, but I won't be sure until I can take a look under my home.  I've got my fingers crossed :)  Oops....nevermind.  The Radio/DVD/Cd player that came with my trailer won't work anymore and yes, it is getting power.  I wonder what happened to it?

My pussy swatting at big Boss at T-Jay's

The Boss :)

This is Patches.  He found that toy, which he had not played with in ages and kept teasing Silly with it. Every time she would look at him, he would growl at her.

It's snowing again, but it's not sticking to the roads yet.  I'm hoping that it will stop snowing before it starts to freeze again.

I really, really want it to warm up so that I can start my seeds!!!!!

Still Can't Go Home :(

T-Jay and his room mates have been kind enough to put me up at the townhouse for the last few days and I really thought that I would be at home tonight.

This morning, T-Jay and I left Manassas to chase cars, motorcycles, boats and houses in Quantico, Triangle, Woodbridge, Warrenton and Haymarket.  I'm glad he went with me since I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to driving the Evil Twin on snow and ice.  I would have driven too slow to get all of the chases done.  After the last one was done, we stopped by my tiny home.

The winds had covered the path that I had dug TWICE with snow.  Knee deep in some places.  My home still has no running water, but that's minor.  I'm sure I can fill up my jugs at Kenny and Cyndi's if I needed to.  The snow covered walk way is what bothered me the most since I have to work early at Millers tomorrow morning and my boots, socks and pants would have been soaked by the time I even made it to my car.  All that lugging of my belongings tonight, since I once again ran out of daylight, in the dark didn't sit well with me either.  I am just too beat to even think about shoveling any snow tonight.

So...T-Jay rescued his Mom again and told me to stay for a couple more days at his place.  Poor guy had to go to back to my home a second time because I forgot to pick up the cable for my camera.  Without it I won't be able to upload my work from today.

:)  Kenny just texted me that he has shoveled the snow out of my path at home.  Thanks Kenny :)  I really appreciate that!!!

I've enjoyed staying with my son and his room mates.  I finally got a chance to get to know everyone and it's been a lot of laughs.  T-Jay really lucked out and got a great group of friends living with him.

My pussy is having a great time too....at least I think she is.  There are three existing pussies at T-Jay's house.  One is just a kitten and is already bigger than my pussy. The other two are HUGE.  Silly is putting up with them, usually hissing  and swatting them on their heads when they get too close.  I'm glad that my pussy is light and small enough to get up out of the way if she has to.

I have photos of the pussies, but am at work and can't plug in camera.  I'll upload them in a few.  Meanwhile T-Jay is trying to catch my pussy doing this new thing she does.  She sits in front of the closed door, jumps up about 4 feet, taps the door with her feet hard enough to make a thumping noise, turns her body around and jumps down.  It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen.  LOL...It took me all day yesterday to figure out what that thumping noise I kept hearing was coming from.  I hope that we can catch her in the act.

One more hour.  I AM SO SLEEPY!  Hopefully what I wrote just now will still make sense when I read it tomorrow.  I even went so far as typing up my reports and emailing them to myself so that all I have to do is copy and paste them after I get out of here.

Got Blizzard?

These are my favorite photos from this past weekend…
CIMG6037
CIMG6041
It started back to snowing at around 6 last night.  I made it to Millers in 15 minutes….that’s a whole .6 of a mile. The service and parts department did about the only business we had and by 8 PM we were closing down.  The hardest part driving was on the street connecting the subdivision to one of the main roads.  That road had hardly been plowed and the half foot of slush had by that time turned into ice.  The Evil Twin was going all over the place almost hitting a truck parked on the side.  It took me three tries to back into my tiny little parking spot. I had more than a few scary moments!

This was at around 10 PM…
CIMG6075
LOL….T-Jays room mates will have to climb through the passenger side door to get in.  I left only a few inches between the cars.  Sorry guys, it’s the best I could manage.

This is this morning….
CIMG6080
T-Jay had been busy clearing a path to the cars and knocking the snow off of the Evil Twin.  He said that as of right now I am not stuck.  Cool….I’m just worried about the next road up.  More than likely that will be were I will get stuck.

I feel bad for the people that have no power.  They just announced on news that  the power crews have stopped working on restoring electricity due to the high winds.  They will come back out when it’s a bit more safe for them.

Meanwhile I keep getting more assignments for car, boat and mortgage chases.  I must be the only one working Prince William, Fauquier, Culpeper and Warren counties since they have not assigned them to some one else.  I hope this stuff melts fast so I can take care of them.  I sure can use the money!  So far it’s been a very meager month.

I sure looking forward to next Wednesday, we should get up to 41 degrees. :)

I miss my home.  I wonder how she's holding up. :(

More Snow On The Way Today

As of noon today, we are expecting another 8 to 14 inches of snow.  This time around there will be the added wind gusts of 40 mph.

This time lapse video of the February 5-6 snowfall in DC, using a Nikon D200 set to make an exposure every 5 minutes. 328 frames at 12 fps, was made by amandareckonwith.

Photos taken on Saturday, 2/6 and Sunday 2/7

It’s been an interesting couple of days.

Saturday I had dug out my path to Kenny’s driveway and a path to my propane tanks.  I didn’t switch over to the full tank at that time and figured the tank still had a bit in it.

Sunday morning around 5:20 I woke up and didn’t hear the furnace cycling on.  I went back to sleep until daylight.  When I finally got up, I went in the kitchen the red light was on telling me that I needed to switch propane tanks.  I got bundled up and went outside to switch propane tanks.  The furnace came on and ran for about 15 minutes and then finally stopped.  After 33 hours, my batteries finally petered out.  Now all I had left was the propane stove for heat.

By early afternoon,  I had dug out the snow around the Evil Twin, but I still could not get on the driveway.  Kenny had been working for hours trying to clear the driveway to the main road. I would have left the Evil Twin alone, but wanted to be able to recharge batteries as they died.

Kenny had cleared their driveway and Aaron, Jason, and I were busy getting the snow off of the vehicles.  Then it was time to get the Evil Twin out.  I drove to the little store about 2 miles down the road to get a carton of cigarettes…..yes I know…  The guy was all ready to ring me up when I noticed that I had no money, no driver’s license, no nothing on me.  In all the excitement of getting the Evil Twin free, I had forgotten all about that minor detail.  The guy let me hold a pack until I had a chance to come back.  I love living in the country. :)

On the way back I got stuck in the driveway. :)  After the Kenny, his Dad, and Aaron got me unstuck and parked I went inside my home, fixed a cup of coffee and some leftovers.  I texted T-Jay and told him that I was now down to stove heat and the electric company kept on changing the time for our power to be restored.  I wanted to be able to go to work Monday night and asked T-Jay if I could come over to take a shower before going to work.  He started to fuss at me and finally talked me into coming over and spending the night.

I loaded up my pussy and few things in a hurry since it was going to be dark in about an hour and I didn’t want to be driving in this mess in the dark.

Of course, I got stuck in the driveway.  It took Kenny’s Dad driving in front of me with the tractor and Kenny and Aaron walking behind me to push me when I got stuck.  After I got on the road, I drove all the way to Manassas at 20 miles an hour.

LOL….it was nice to have warm feet finally, without even trying.

Yesterday I called Ruben and asked him to drive me back to the house in his Tundra, since now the Evil Twin was stuck in the parking lot.  I still needed to pick up a few things that I had forgotten and still intended to make it to work.  Ten minutes after we got there the electric came back on.  It was now 43 degrees inside my home.  Still no water.  First I was going to go back to T-Jay’s and get my stuff and go back home, but I knew the Evil Twin wouldn’t make it in and out of the driveway without help and I would be stuck at home since we are expecting another storm.

So here I am still at T-Jay’s. Thanks T-Jay for talking me into coming over.  Didn’t make it to work last night, but I’m bound and determined to make it in today.  It’s supposed to start snowing again at around noon.  Oh….and apparently I snore.

Meanwhile, my clients are crying because my car chases are late.  WTF??

No Mail Today

lol....so you know it's really bad.

Our light went out at 11 PM last night. Almost 200 thousand people are without electric in our area.

I'm listening to my crank radio. My home is now running on battery power. I have minimum lights, but no power in my outlets. I think I have about another 30 minutes of power on my laptop. The refrigerator is now on propane. The heater is working fine and it's snuggly warm inside. I have my stove and hot water. I feel like I'm on a camping trip. The coffee was awesome! :)

Kenny is on his way with the tractor and will clear a path for me to their driveway.

I just opened my front door. It was blocked with snow. I don't even see my steps.

I think I'll go and switch over to the full propane tank, since I don't know how much I have left in this one after running the heater all night.

Well, I'm going to publish this before I run out of juice.

It started snowing here around 9:15 this morning and I’d better go out there and see if I can still find my snow shovel.Found it and since the path that Aaron had cleared for me the other day was now covered with new snow, I figured it would be a good time as any to clear it again.

CIMG5993

So far it looks like we already have two inches of fresh snow and the temperature is already down to 32 degrees. At this rate, I don’t think I’ll be going to Millers later this afternoon. By 9 PM the roads will be in a real mess and it’s not worth it to put myself or anyone else in danger. I already turned down a car chase in Front Royal this morning. LOL… there’s no way I’m driving anywhere NEAR the mountains in this weather.
By the way… I feel much better today. I was a real basket case yesterday. I did smoke one cigarette with Kenny a while ago. It was the most delicious smoke I’ve had in years....sigh
(Why is Windows Live Writer double spacing everything that I write??)

Withdrawals? I thought I was avoiding them….

……by using the nicotine lozenges.  So why was I in tears when I watched the weather report this morning??  WTF?  ….and why is my plumbing all messed up?  I haven’t pooped in days.  I sure hope I get out of this funk.  Don’t feel like going anywhere.  Things are pissing me off.  I just want to go back to bed and sleep until I feel better.  Fuck!

FarmVille 114 miles

CIMG5975

I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this for all the Facebook FarmVille players :)

I had great timing yesterday.  Finished my  car chases.    Filled the Evil Twin up with fuel.  Got the propane tank filled and back home, thanks to Kenny for carrying that heavy sucker…..and then it started to snow.  I went to Millers and stayed until 8:20….. we closed up early.

LOL….Jaime’s crazy looking boot prints in the parking lot.

CIMG5976

By the time I left Millers, the snow was really coming down.

CIMG5977

Driving home was pretty scary because the snow was really piling up making it just about impossible to see where the lanes were.  There was hardly any traffic, so at times I wasn’t even sure that I was ON the road.  I don’t think I ever made it over 35 mph.  Already there was one car in the ditch.  I don’t understand why people are not super careful when it gets like this.  By the time you realize that you’re losing control on the snow and ice, unless you’re a very experienced driver, it is usually too late.

This morning the phone woke me up.  It was the company that we do the snow removal for calling at 5 AM to let me know to send Ruben and his crew out to Centreville.  Naturally I couldn’t go back to sleep.  So I tackled the blow dryer.

CIMG5985

It had about 4 years of dirt inside.  No wonder it was acting stupid.

CIMG5986

I carefully put it back together after cleaning it.  Crossed my fingers, plugged it in and it works just fine.  So, again I have a spare. :)

I had a beautiful view out of my kitchen window this morning…

CIMG5984

More snow on Friday and Saturday.  I’m really ready for spring.

Well time to hit the shower.  My doctor’s appointment is at 2 PM.

Baked Sweet Potato, Eggs, and Sausage for Breakfast…..

……yummy.  The breakfast of champions.  I know …. it looks weird, but it’s delicious
CIMG5969
CIMG5973
I had to laugh last night when I got home….looking at my almost absolutely useless solar light after a day of sunshine.  Not entirely useless since it does give me a hint that my home is somewhere nearby….
CIMG5968
The other day my blow dryer started making strange noises and then cut itself off.  So tomorrows project is to take it apart and see what’s going on in there.  Meanwhile, I have my backup dryer from my car show/road trip days.
Then tomorrow afternoon it’s off to the doctors to see what’s up with this boil like thing on my jaw which is getting on my last nerve.  You know what that means!!
CIMG5972
This afternoon I have two chases  in Remington and one in Gainesville.  On the way back, I think I’ll get the propane tank, that’s sitting in my back seat, filled up.  Just in case.  They’re calling for more snow tonight.
I also picked up a commercial inspection.  Things seem to be picking up.
SEVEN days without cigarettes as of last night. :)

What Happens When You Forget To Turn The Crockpot Off….

……..before going to work?   You end up with some super tender awesome meat.  Ha…and I was so worried that I would come home to burnt stew.  It was well done and delicious over some mashed sweet potatoes.

This is the road coming out of our driveway yesterday at 11 AM…..

CIMG5962

This was the driveway behind me….

CIMG5963

After I got to the main road everything was clear…..

CIMG5965

I’m assuming that everything is clear and dry when I head out to Catlett in a couple of hours.  At least I hope so, got to chase a motor coach.

Yesterday the hot water came back on in the bathroom 30 minutes after I posted it.  Weird!!  This morning it was 5 degrees and the hot water in the bathroom was fine.

When I go to bed tonight, I will have finished 7 days of not smoking.  What a long week.  I do hope it gets better with time.  I miss it!

Time for one more cup a…

CIMG5966

…….then I’m gonna hit the road. :)
